Paul LaCoursiere has been appointed as Global Head of Environmental, Social and Governance Investments at Janus Henderson Investors. Bringing over 20 years of investment research experience, LaCoursiere will help drive the integration of ESG across the firm’s strategies. “Paul augments our existing strong capabilities with his experience and leadership skills which will further embed ESG capabilities within our investment philosophies,” said Enrique Chang, Global Chief Investment Officer at Janus Henderson. LaCoursiere previously held senior investment management roles with Chicago Equity Partners, Barclays Global Investors, Munder Capital management and Aviva Investors.
US investment manager Neuberger Berman has hired a team of seven ESG-focused global equity investment professionals from NN Investment Partners. The team of three senior managers – Hendrik-Jan Boer, Alex Zuiderwijk and Jeroen Brand – and four research analysts previously managed more than US$10 billion in assets. The group has been early practitioners of ESG investing with deep expertise incorporating ESG risk factors into their investment approach, according to Neuberger Berman. “Our new global equity team enables us to offer a top performing investment capability with a strong ESG and Sustainable focus,” said Joseph Amato, Equities CIO at Neuberger Berman.
Valérie de Robillard has been appointed Head ESG Real Assets at Swiss Life Asset Managers. The firm said the new position confirmed its responsible investment strategy and “reinforces ESG synergies” within its real estate and infrastructure activities. De Robillard joins a six-person ESG team from Nexity, a French real estate developer, where she was head of corporate social responsibility. In her new role, De Robillard will coordinate Swiss Life AM’s ESG policies across Europe and oversee integration of ESG practices in the firm’s real estate and infrastructure products and services, reporting to Nelufer Ansari, head of ESG at Swiss Life AM.
UK-based asset and wealth management consultancy Alpha FMC has announced the launch of a dedicated Environmental, Social and Governance and Responsible Investment practice. Comprising a global network of more than 20 ESG practitioners, the establishment of the new standalone practice will enable the firms provide ESG-related services to a greater number of clients. Alpha’s ESG & RI work to date includes initiatives ranging from strategy and advisory to planning and design to execution.
