Assets under management, overall number of signatories and number of asset owner signatories have all seen an increase.
The UN-backed Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) reported the addition of 262 new signatories from around the world, including 43 asset owners, in its recent quarterly update.
As of 31 March 2020, the PRI had 3038 signatories representing US$86 trillion in assets under management.
With the new additions, the number has grown to 3300 signatories, an increase of 8.6% since the previous quarter.
The number of asset owners has also risen to 561, from the previous base of 518, charting 8.3% growth.
Assets under management grew to US$103.4 trillion, a 12.3% growth on a base of US$86 trillion.
Europe accounts for a significant part of the growth, with 42 new signatories in UK and Ireland alone, followed by 23 additions from Southern Europe. The US accounted for 65 net new signatories since 1 April 2020. Barring Africa, there were additions in most locations, including Latin America, Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
New signatories included Swedbank, R+V, Societe Generale Assurances, Fondoposte and Kapan Pensioner.
