US SIF Expands Sustainable Investment Curriculum

The US Sustainable Investment Forum (US SIF) has updated and expanded its Chartered SRI Counselor (CSRIC) curriculum. The curriculum offers foundational knowledge about the history, definitions, trends, portfolio construction principles, fiduciary responsibilities, and best practices for sustainable investors and financial advisors. The programme, which is available through the College for Financial Planning, includes educational content and opportunities for advisors focused on a number of sustainable investing topics through an online live or on-demand class. The US SIF Foundation identified US$8.4 trillion in total US-domiciled AuM that use sustainable investing strategies representing 13% of total US assets under professional management, with the course being updated to “reflect the growing and changing field of sustainable investment”. Michael Young, Director of Education and Outreach at US SIF, said: “The CSRIC curriculum is designed to prepare advisors to meet the consumer demand for sustainable investing. Through this designation, advisors will learn about trends in the industry, the latest research and tools that they can use with clients.”
