The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment (US SIF) has chosen Rachel Curley as its new Director of Policy and Programmes. In her new role, Curley will help advance the organisation’s policy priorities and develop programming content on behalf of US SIF members. Curley succeeds Bryan McGannon, who was named Managing Director at the end of 2022. McGannon will remain involved in US SIF’s policy initiatives. McGannon told ESG Investor that Curley will act as its lead representative to regulatory bodies and Congress, helping US SIF to interact with and monitor the regulatory bodies, as well as develop US SIF policies with its membership on key issues. “I’ve had the pleasure to work with Rachel in her previous role as colleagues,” McGannon said. “She’s got a good foundational understanding of the issues and she’s an exceptionally good organiser, which has an important role to help engage our members and help them understand these issues and then take action.”. Prior to joining US SIF, Curley worked as a democracy advocate for Public Citizen’s Congress Watch division, where she supported the organisation’s work on democracy and investor protection issues. She started her career as the programme coordinator for Doctors for America, where she led on several of its major campaigns. “She has tremendous relationships with other colleagues in our field. All that together really makes for a really great person who can hit the ground running,” McGannon added. “Adding Rachel gives us another person to broaden our reach. Her organising and coalition building skills, expand how we can build stronger ties to our ally organisations, as well as produce more content for the education of policymakers”. Curley’s appointment follows US SIF naming Maria Lettini as its new CEO, who will take over the role from Lisa Wolf from 15 May 2023.
