The Church Commissioners for England has announced Olga Hancock as its new Head of Responsible Investment. Tom Joy, Chief Investment Officer of the Church Commissioners for England, said: “We are delighted to appoint Olga to lead our Responsible Investment team, ensuring our assets are managed responsibly.” He reiterated the long-standing commitment of the Church Commissioners to responsible and ethical investment, urging investee firms to prioritise good governance and sustainable practices. Hancock brings a wealth of experience to her new position. She initially joined the Church Commissioners in 2019 as a Senior Engagement Analyst and later became the Deputy Head of Responsible Investment in 2021. Hancock’s portfolio includes chairing the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association Policy Committee, co-Chairing and co-Founding the Investor Policy Dialogue on Deforestation Indonesia, and serving on the steering committee of the Finance Sector Deforestation Action. Most recently, she was elected as the lead of the Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance policy workstream. Hancock has qualifications as a solicitor in New South Wales, Australia, as well as in England and Wales and is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability.
