Three Directors Join Verra

Verra, a non-profit which certifies carbon credit projects, has welcomed three new members to its board, with Julie McLaughlin, Anshari Rahman, and Mandy Rambharos adding to the firm’s carbon market expertise. Verra said the appointees will add “critical perspectives and expertise” to its board. McLaughlin is Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s energy practice, specialising in energy transition. Rahman is Director of Policy and Analytics at GenZero, a global decarbonisation-focused investment platform owned by Singapore sovereign wealth fund Temasek. Rambharos, who previously served on Verra’s board from 2019 to 2021, is Vice President for Global Climate Cooperation at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF). At the fund, she drives EDF’s strategy to promote carbon pricing and markets that support the transformation toward a low-emissions future. Verra is aiming to bolster its programmes with plans to release a new consolidated REDD methodology, and the development of a new nature crediting framework. Judith Simon, Interim CEO at Verra, said: “Our work is core to advancing climate action and sustainable development around the world, and with the support of our board and staff, we will make sure that Verra rises to the challenge and supports stakeholders across environmental and social markets.”
