S&P Global has hired Dr Richard Mattison as Vice Chair of S&P Global Sustainable1, a newly created role, alongside Chris Heusler as President of the unit. Prior to their new positions, Heusler served as the Chief Commercial Officer of S&P Global Ratings, while Mattison held the position of President of S&P Global Sustainable1. Both executives will report to Martina Cheung, President of S&P Global Ratings and the Executive Sponsor of S&P Global Sustainable1. In his role as Vice Chair of S&P Global Sustainable1, Mattison will take charge of market engagement, leading market innovation, conduct critical research, and collaborate with market participants, policymakers, regulators, and standard-setting bodies. He was a member of the EU High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance, whose recommendations were adopted as part of Europe’s Sustainable Finance Action Plan, and is a member of the Taskforce on Nature Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) Launched in April 2021, S&P Global Sustainable1 serves as a source for sustainability intelligence, products, and solutions. Heuslersaid: “More than ever, market participants are looking to high-quality data, advanced analytics, and dynamic new solutions to support them as they navigate the evolving sustainability landscape.”
