International sustainability consultancy firm Sancroft has launched its ‘Investor ESG Toolkit’, a free-to-use, interactive assessment tool designed to help private equity firms benchmark their current maturity in ESG integration and better understand the actions they must take to meet the emerging demands of regulators, investors, and other stakeholders. The toolkit aims to bridge the ‘planning gap’ identified by Sancroft among UK private equity firms which are aware of the need to take action on ESG integration but are unsure where to start, what they must prioritise and the necessary operational changes required within their organisation. It introduces a four-stage ESG maturity model which Sancroft says can help firms evolve from a reactive approach to ESG Integration to “one which is embedded in the business and delivers long term value”. “ESG integration remains one of the most critical tasks for every private equity investor,” Judy Kuszewski, CEO of Sancroft, said. “The only way firms will realise these benefits is by understanding the current level of maturity of their ESG integration and how it must evolve to stay ahead of competitors, regulators, and other stakeholders.”
