Amanda O’Toole has been selected to launch and manage independent investment manager Redwheel’s Clean Economy and Biodiversity investment strategies. Subject to regulatory approval the funds are expected to launch later in the year, with the two strategies sitting within a newly created Redwheel Sustainable Growth franchise. Redwheel’s Clean Economy strategy will focus on high-quality, growth-oriented companies that have a positive impact on the environment, while the Redwheel Biodiversity strategy will centre on companies that have a positive impact on biodiversity. O’Toole joins Redwheel from AXA Investment Managers (IM). During her 12 years at AXA IM, she ran both Clean Economy and Biodiversity strategies as a portfolio manager and led as a global specialist on clean tech themes within the internal research team. O’Toole will be joined at Redwheel by Sebastien Bidault, who formerly spent seven years as a portfolio manager of the Tesco Pension Investment Global Equity Fund. Tord Stallvik, CEO at Redwheel, said: “Amanda has significant expertise and an outstanding track record in running Clean Economy and Biodiversity investment strategies and Sebastien is a skilled and experienced stock picker of high-quality, growth-oriented companies. The pair are the first hires for our new Sustainable Growth franchise.”
