Investment management firm Octopus Investments has hired Sean McLachlan as Senior Investment Director to the Sustainable Infrastructure team. McLachlan joins from Aviva Investors where he spent seven years as Senior Director, with responsibilities including investment strategy, fundraising and client engagement. He will co-head the Octopus Sustainable Infrastructure Fund which provides growth capital to next gen infrastructure companies. The fund recently made its first investment, backing the £50 million (US$63.8 million) rollout of electric vehicle charging company Weev. Robert Skinner, Head of Sustainable Infrastructure at Octopus Investments, said: “We are thrilled to be adding Sean to our Sustainable Infrastructure team. His significant experience across the sector aligns incredibly well with the aims of OSIF; one of which is to accelerate the growth of emerging sustainable infrastructure to help reach the UK’s net zero targets.”
