Data and research provider Sustainable Fitch has launched the ESG Regulations and Reporting Standards Tracker, a downloadable tool which aims to provide users with an up-to-date overview of the rapidly evolving ESG regulatory environment. It will monitor the global development of sustainable taxonomies, as well as ESG- and climate-related corporate and fund disclosure standards. Sustainable Fitch has also published the tracker’s ‘May 2023 Highlights’ report, which outlines key developments, such as the expected final draft of the International Sustainability Standards Board’s climate and general sustainability standards later this quarter and the delay of the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s climate disclosure rule under Q3. The report also points to progress made on sustainable taxonomies across Brazil, Mexico, the ASEAN region and the EU since the start of 2023. Sustainable Fitch said: “Taxonomies are increasingly covering the aspect of transition, with some notable differences in approach to certain activities, including coal phase-out timelines, and carbon capture and storage.”
