Ten case studies have been released highlighting how institutional investors are moving to net zero portfolios using a framework launched last year by the Investor Agenda. Asset owners including AustralianSuper, Nest, Northern LGPS, and the New York State Common Retirement Fund are using Investor Climate Action Plans (ICAPs) to align their investments with the goal of a net zero emissions economy by 2050. ICAPs are designed to steer investor action across four focus areas – investment, corporate engagement, policy advocacy and investor disclosure — while also providing guidance on governance. The Investor Agenda, a collaboration of regional investor networks focused on achieving net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, published an initial set of ten case studies in January.
To create comprehensive #ICAPs, investors need to lay out their climate action plans within 4 focus areas: Policy Advocacy, Corporate Engagement, Investment, and Investor Disclosure.
