Global investment manager M&G has appointed Kathy Ryan as Chief Sustainability Officer, where she will spearhead the group’s sustainability strategy as a responsible long-term investor. Ryan was formerly the Head of Responsible Investment at Irish Life Investment Management (ILIM), where she oversaw the growth of a dedicated ESG team, furthering ESG integration and stewardship across various asset classes. Her contributions extended beyond the organisation, chairing the CDP Ireland Network, launching the 30% Investor Initiative Ireland on Diversity, and playing a pivotal role in shaping Ireland’s Climate Action Plan. Ryan was also founder of Global Green Investments, an ESG investment research and analytics firm that provided counsel to the World Bank, the European Commission, and the UK government. Ryan is set to commence her new position on 13 November, reporting directly to M&G CFO Kathryn McLeland. “I’m delighted to welcome Kathy to M&G,” said McLeland. “The depth of her technical expertise and wealth of experience in advancing sustainable investing makes her the ideal candidate to drive our sustainability strategy forward.”
