Charlotte Hugman has joined ING’s Stakeholder Engagement team as Senior Sustainability Engagement Consultant within the firm’s global sustainability team. The global sustainability team is responsible for ING’s overall sustainability approach and how that aligns with ING’s global strategy. In her new role, Hugman will be responsible for project managing ING’s 2023 Climate Report and will thereafter pick up engagement activities with key sustainability stakeholders for ING, both internally and externally. She has moved to ING from the World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA), a non-for-profit that publicly ranks companies and financial institutions – including ING – on their contributions to sustainable development. During her time at the WBA, Hugman was responsible for developing the rankings of high emitting companies, as well as the organisation’s just transition methodology and approach. She later transitioned into a role leading on WBA’s engagement with financial institutions. Hugman spent almost two years at the Global Reporting Initiative, where she was responsible for developing standards for sustainability impact reporting.
