London-based non-profit Impact Investing Institute has appointed Kieron Boyle as its new CEO. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the Institute’s efforts to champion impact investing at what it calls a “crucial time” when the market is moving from the “fringes to the mainstream, and with social inequality and climate change at the forefront of the minds of investors and policymakers”. Boyle joins from the £1 billion endowment Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, where he led on reducing health inequalities. He was previously Director of Impact Investment at the UK government’s cabinet office and worked on developing its strategy to make the UK a global hub for impact investing, including the creation of wholesale social investor Big Society Capital. Dame Elizabeth Corley, Chair of the Impact Investing Institute, said: “[Kieron] is ideally skilled to realise the Institute’s aspirations and take its accomplishments to the next level building on Sarah Gordon’s exceptional legacy as founding CEO. [He] is widely recognised as a key and influential figure in the global impact investing world and we are excited that he is joining us.”
