IIGCC Updates Net Zero Investment Framework

The Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) is seeking feedback on the second iteration of its Net Zero Investment Framework (NZIF). NZIF 2.0 aims to incorporate some revised target terminology and criteria, summarising best practices shared by investors over the past three years into 40 potential action items that investors can implement. The framework has incorporated recently released guidance on private equity, infrastructure, sovereign bonds and real estate. A new emissions performance criterion for listed equities and corporate fixed income, as well as new certificate deposits guidance to support net zero cash management, have also been included. Both the private equity and the infrastructure guidance were recently subject to review by IIGCC working groups and public consultations, and as such, are not open to further changes during this consultation process – which is open until 24 April.
