International independent standards organisation the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) has welcomed four new members to its Global Sustainability Standards Board (GSSB). Jeff Robertson, Director, Environment & Sustainability at Bimbo Canada has been appointed as Vice Chair of the independent body responsible for setting the GRI Standards. He is joined by Chulendra De Silva, Founding Partner and Owner at InterBalance Consulting, GMO Head of ESG and Sustainability Deborah Ng, and Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Corporate Sustainability Policy and Reporting Manager Gayla Tsonkova. The GRI’s Due Process Oversight Committee (DPOC) has also re-appointed Caroline Wakesho Sonje and is joined by new member Jeremy Nicholls. Sonje is currently consulting with the United Nations (UN) Environment Program Finance Initiative and Nicholls is consulting at the UN Development Programme. The DPOC ensures standard-setting activities are conducted in accordance with the defined due process, increasing stakeholder confidence and in the public interest.
