GIIN Welcomes New President

Sapna Shah has become the new President of the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), 13 years after joining the group. She previously served as Chief Operating Programme Officer since 2022, and as Managing Director prior to that. In her new role she will be overseeing all aspects of GIIN’s programmatic and operational work, including the implementation of a multi-year strategic plan. GIIN CEO and Co-founder Amit Bouri said: “Since joining the [network] just one year after its inception, [Sapna has] been instrumental in growing the team, developing and nurturing talent, and expanding our programmes and capabilities in service of our mission to scale the market with integrity.” Sapna’s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring investors have the tools, research and resources they need to integrate impact into their decisions, Bouri added. Prior to joining GIIN, Shah was Programme Officer for Africa and Regional Coordinator for East Africa at Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture – a non-profit focused on strengthening the agricultural sector across emerging markets and developing economies. “[Sapna’s] courageous leadership will continue to advance [our] mission to promote impact investing to address global challenges,” said Eloy Lindeijer, GIIN Chair and former Chief of Investment Management at Dutch cooperative pension fund service provider PGGM.
