The UK’s Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has published the latest list of new signatories to the UK Stewardship Code, following its Q1 2022 assessment. The Code sets the standards of stewardship for asset owners and managers. The spring assessment featured an “extensive” review process, considering organisations’ investment sizes, styles and types. There were 43 new signatories added to the Code, taking the total number to 236, with total AUM jumping from £33.3 trillion to £40.7 trillion. New signatories include JP Morgan, BNP Paribas Asset Management, Allianz Global Investors and Macquarie Asset Management. Mark Babington, the FRC’s Executive Director of Regulatory Standards, said: “It’s great to see improvements in how organisations are evidencing their stewardship each year and more tailored explanations on how they apply the Code to demonstrate their stewardship activity and outcomes effectively.”
