Franklin Templeton Expands Global Sustainable Strategy Team

US-based asset manager Franklin Templeton has appointed Christine Shaw as a Senior Advisor on its Global Sustainability Strategy Team (GSST). Shaw joins the firm from the State of Connecticut’s Office of the Treasurer where she spent more than two decades serving in various roles with oversight of US$65 billion in assets. In her new role, Shaw’s responsibilities will include advising on the overall execution and efficacy of Franklin Templeton’s sustainability programme, providing counsel on the effective implementation of the firm’s sustainable investment strategy, and analysis of policy and regulation related to sustainable finance. James Andrus, Vice President of Sustainability Global Markets at Franklin Templeton, said: “Christine’s multi-decade experience in corporate governance and risk management will be critical in advancing the firm’s sustainability priorities and initiatives. She will be a strong and important contributor to our stewardship, proxy voting, engagement and policy work going forward, and we are thrilled to add her to our growing team.”
