Fidelity Promotes Tan to Chief Sustainability Officer

Asset manager Fidelity International has appointed Jenn-Hui Tan to the newly created role of Chief Sustainability Officer. Tan had previously been Global Head of Stewardship and Sustainable Investing at Fidelity, having originally joined the firm from Norton Rose Fulbright in 2007. The new position will oversee both Fidelity’s sustainable investing and corporate sustainability teams to ensure consistent governance of the firm’s sustainable approach across its corporate operations and client service areas, including investment management and retirement solutions. In his new role, Tan will be responsible for the delivery of Fidelity’s sustainability approach, as well as firm’s strategy, execution, and governance in this area. He will retain management of the Sustainable Investing team, with the Corporate Sustainability team moving to report to him. Andrew McCaffery, Global Chief Investment Officer at Fidelity, said: “As the sustainability landscape continues to evolve in line with client and regulatory expectations, we believe it is important to have a single point of accountability across Fidelity to deliver a consistent, overarching sustainability strategy – setting policy and governing delivery of our sustainability commitments across our full business operations.”
