Bursa Malaysia has issued a new guidebook for listed companies to help them better understand the importance of embedding ESG aspects in their governance frameworks. It is the third and final publication under an initiative launched in March to steer listed companies towards higher performance levels via best practices and data insights, thus increasing attractiveness to investors. The third guidebook, published on Friday, focuses on strengthening stakeholder management and investor relations through higher engagement levels and customised communication approaches. It includes guidance on developing a robust crisis communication approach and operationalising investor relations, also providing examples of good stakeholder management practices. The previous guidance focused on aligning purpose with performance and the role of governance processes in establishing robust ESG practices across key functions.
