Duncan Paterson has joined the non-profit Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) in the newly created role of Director of Investor Practice. Paterson has 25 years of industry experience, and his previous roles include building the responsible investment advisory business CAER, which later merged with global firm ISS ESG in 2019. He also served as Director and Chair of the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia, and Director of the Hong Kong-based Association for Sustainable and Responsible Investment in Asia. In his new role, Paterson will be responsible for accelerating climate-aligned investment throughout the IGCC’s membership, as well as ensuring members are “well-equipped with leading tools and knowledge in the rapidly evolving sector”. Rebecca Mikula-Wright, CEO at the IGCC, said: “Duncan is the perfect addition to our leadership group. He knows our members, the opportunities and the challenges they face in getting their portfolios ready for a climate-resilient, net zero economy. [He] has been an important leader in Australia’s financial system, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.”
