Compass Keeps Clearers on Course for Sustainability

Eurex Clearing, one of the leading central counterparties globally, has unveiled its new ESG Clearing Compass solution to support the sustainable transformation of clearing members and their clients. The new solution includes two services: the ESG Portfolio Assessment and the ESG Visibility Hub. The former will help clients looking to decarbonise their portfolios, improve monitoring and reporting facilities or reconcile their ESG strategy. The data used by the ESG Portfolio Assessment service is sourced from ISS ESG, the sustainable investment division of Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS), also part of Deutsche Börse Group. The ESG Visibility Hub will offer clearing members additional tools to highlight their ESG profile and initiatives on Eurex Clearing’s website. The increased depth of information provided by ESG Clearing Compass will help market participants better assess counterparties that they do business with based on their sustainability profile and ESG strategy. Many market participants still struggle with incomplete, inconsistent or insufficient data regarding their exposure to climate-related physical and transition risks,” Christina Sell, Chief Sustainability Officer Trading and Clearing at Deutsche Börse, said. “As a financial infrastructure service provider, we consider it our responsibility to contribute to transparency. With our innovative offering, our members can efficiently receive high-quality ESG data via established channels.”

The practical information hub for asset owners looking to invest successfully and sustainably for the long term. As best practice evolves, we will share the news, insights and data to guide asset owners on their individual journey to ESG integration.
