Sustainability technology platform Clarity AI has developed a sustainable investment index and exchange-traded fund (ETF) methodology which aligns with the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). The methodology aims to aid index and ETF providers in defining and marketing products that fall under SFDR’s scope, such as indices targeting companies in key low carbon industries like electric vehicles and sustainable infrastructure. Financial market participants will be able to utilise the methodology to determine how companies pass the sustainable investment assessment, including setting thresholds on their contribution to the environmental objectives of the EU Taxonomy and SFDR’s Principal Adverse Impact indicators (PAIs). Ani Widham, Senior Product Manager at Clarity AI, said: “We know that investors seek clarity and transparency when evaluating their portfolios, so providing them with this efficient methodology, aligned with the SFDR regulation, will enable them to make better sustainable investment decisions to benefit their companies and wider sustainable investment industry.”
