BNPP AM Adds to ESG ETF Suite

BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has launched the Easy Sustainable EUR Corporate Bond and Easy Sustainable EUR Government Bond as part of its ESG active fixed-income exchange-traded fund (ETF) range. Easy Sustainable EUR Corporate Bond is categorised as Article 9 under the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), with a 100% sustainable investment universe. It will track the Bloomberg Euro Aggregate Corporate, an investment grade bond index with an average duration of 4.4 years. Meanwhile, the Easy Sustainable EUR Government Bond is an Article 8 fund, targeting at least 30% of sustainable investments and tracking the JPMorgan EMU Investment Grade Index – which has an average duration of 7.1 years. BNPP AM will apply its ESG methodology, exclusion policies and active engagement strategy to both funds. “[The funds] will enable us to react promptly to any controversies without needing to wait for the next index rebalancing, and to respond rapidly to the changing environment,” said Marie-Sophie Pastant, Head of Index and ETF Strategies at BNPP AM. “This will allow us to comply more easily with the different sustainability label criteria.” The two vehicles are sub-funds of the BNP Paribas Easy Luxembourg SICAV and are now trading on Borsa Italiana and Deutsche Börse Xetra.
