BNP Paribas AM Outlines Six Sustainability Priorities

BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has updated its global sustainability strategy, having introduced six strategic considerations for the next two years. The asset manager said it would aim to produce science-led and transparent sustainability-related research, work on its policy advocacy and direct engagements with investee companies, mobilise capital for sustainability-focused solutions, instil a sustainability culture within the firm, contribute to sustainability themes in emerging markets, and enhance its range of impact investment strategies. These focus areas will underpin BNPP AM’s six sustainability pillars: forward-looking perspective, responsible business conduct, ESG integration, stewardship, sustainability integration into its product range, and “walking the talk” through its corporate social responsibility approach. “Over the coming years, the asset management industry will face far-reaching change, driven by the need to reallocate capital towards a more sustainable and inclusive economy, new geopolitical dynamics, evolving regulation, technological transformation and changing demographics,” said BNPP AM CEO Sandro Pierri. “It will require long-term investors to reposition their portfolios for sustainable growth, and a radically different level of thinking across the entire financial system than has been the case in the past. Our global sustainability strategy helps to strengthen our conviction and guide our actions.”
