Pan-European market infrastructure provider Euronext aims to bolster the sustainable finance transition with the launch of a series of ESG initiatives. In line with this commitment, Euronext unveiled ‘My ESG Profile’, a digital tool allowing issuers to detail their sustainability credentials while providing investors with access to relevant ESG data. Euronext is set to deploy nearly 1,900 standardised ESG company profiles on its website, with issuers able to enhance their profiles through its customer portal, enhancing transparency and access to reliable ESG data. Further, the firm introduced its Euronext Biodiversity Enablers index family. Developed in collaboration with Iceberg Data Lab, this world benchmark index emphasises the positive impact companies can have on biodiversity while assessing their double materiality worldwide. The index relies on two innovative metrics: a Dependency Exposure Score that identifies companies with high-revenue dependency on biodiversity ecosystems; and a Biodiversity Avoided Impact metric that identifies companies excelling in biodiversity and environmental practices. Stéphane Boujnah, CEO and Chairman of the Managing Board of Euronext, said: “As strong advocates of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, we firmly believe that the shift towards sustainable finance relies on improved extra-financial standards and more precise, regulated and granular ESG criteria. Our newly unveiled ESG products and services are designed to empower companies in their pursuit of these goals.”
