AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has appointed four independent members to its recently launched Investment Institute, including former COP26 Climate Champion Nigel Topping. These new external members look to offer expertise and insights on topics including macroeconomics, climate change, biodiversity and natural resources. Topping, the UN’s High-Level Climate Action Champion for COP26 and Co-founder of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ), Race to Zero, and the Race to Resilience, will advise on climate. He will be joined by former Economic Counsellor, and Director, Research Department for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Olivier Blanchard to advise on microeconomics, and World Wildlife Fund France’s Director of Corporate Engagement Marie-Christine Korniloff, and Head of Sustainable Business Practices Nicolas Loz De Coëtgourhant, to advise on nature and biodiversity. The external members will attend the advisory committee bi-annually to discuss the key macro and research themes to be covered by the institute. Chris Iggo, Chair of the AXA IM Investment Institute, said: “The new members of the committee will bring renowned expertise to help shape our ways of thinking so we can cut through today’s complexities and ensure we’re ahead of future challenges and opportunities for the benefit of investors.”
