Kirsten James, Ceres, and Jay Famiglietti, Global Institute for Water Security
Kirsten James directs Ceres' strategy for mobilising leading investors and companies to address the sustainability risks facing our freshwater and agriculture systems. Previously, she served for five years as Director of California Policy and Partnerships, where she led strategy development for Ceres’ California-focused policy work, engaging companies and investors in support of public policies that call for sustainable water management, clean energy and greenhouse gas emissions reductions.
Jay Famiglietti is a Professor of Hydrology and Executive Director of the Global Institute for Water Security at the University of Saskatchewan, where he holds the Canada 150 Research Chair in Hydrology and Remote Sensing. Previously, he served as the Senior Water Scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. A fellow of the American Geophysical Union and the Geological Society of America, Famiglietti is a regular advisor to state, provincial and federal government officials on water security issues.
